MintGuard reviews: does it really work?

What is MintGuard?

MintGuard is a natural rodent repellent sold in packs of 12 pressed mint balls. Each ball is made with three plant oils, peppermint, clove and castor oil, which we call TripleSense. You put one ball in each room or at each way in, and it releases scent slowly for 30 to 60 days.

It contains no poison and it isn't a trap. The idea is simple: make your home smell wrong to a rat or mouse so they choose somewhere else.

What we like about it

• No poison, so nothing dies behind the fridge or under the floorboards
• Nothing to set, empty or check every morning
• One pack covers a typical house: kitchen, under the sink, loft, garage, shed and car
• Pressed balls last far longer than cotton wool soaked in peppermint oil
• Backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee

What to know before you buy

• MintGuard is a repellent, not a cure for a large established infestation. If you already see droppings every day, call a pest controller and use MintGuard afterwards to keep them from coming back.
• It works best alongside blocking obvious gaps (pipe holes, air bricks, gaps under doors).
• Balls need swapping every 30 to 60 days, so most homes buy a bundle for the whole winter.
